Previously, I have been able to access the web interface from a browser via the printer's IP address.
When I try to do it now, I get a security error complaing about an old (outdated) TLS version.
This happens with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Edge.
What can I do to regain access to the web interface?
Best regards from Denmark,
Eric

Hi @Eric_DK,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Color LaserJet CP3525n printer’s web interface is using an outdated TLS version that modern browsers no longer support by default. This is why you're getting a security error when trying to access it.
To regain access, you have a few options:
Solution 1: Use a Browser That Supports Older TLS Versions
Some older browsers still support outdated TLS versions. Try using:
🔹 Internet Explorer (IE11) (if available)
🔹 Old versions of Firefox or Chrome (Portable versions can be found online)
If you don’t want to install an older browser, try Microsoft Edge in IE Mode:
1️. Open Edge and type edge://settings/defaultBrowser in the address bar.
2️. Under "Internet Explorer compatibility", set "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" to Enabled.
3️. Restart Edge, go to your printer’s IP address, and click Reload in IE mode.
Solution 2: Enable Older TLS Versions in Firefox
1️. Open Firefox and type about: config in the address bar.
2️. Search for security.tls.version.min and security.tls.version.enable-deprecated.
3️. Set security.tls.version.min to 1 ( allows TLS 1.0 & 1.1).
4️. Set security.tls.version.enable-deprecated to true.
5️. Restart Firefox and try accessing the printer again.
Solution 3: Enable Older TLS Versions in Chrome/Edge
Chrome and Edge removed support for older TLS versions, but you can re-enable it temporarily:
1️. Open Chrome and go to chrome://flags/#enable-legacy-tls.
2️. Enable the "Legacy TLS Versions" option.
3️. Restart Chrome and try accessing the printer again.
Solution 4: Update Printer Firmware (If Available)
If your printer has a firmware update available, it may include support for newer TLS versions:
1️. Go to HP’s support website: HP Software & Driver Downloads
2️. Search for your printer model (HP Color LaserJet CP3525n).
3️. Download and install the latest firmware update.
If you can update your printer's firmware, that’s the best long-term fix. Otherwise, enabling older TLS versions in Firefox or using an older browser should work as a temporary workaround.
Let me know which method works for you or if you need further guidance! 😊
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Eric_DK,
Solution 3: Enable Older TLS Versions in Chrome/Edge
Chrome and Edge removed support for older TLS versions, but you can re-enable it temporarily:
1️. Open Chrome and go to chrome://flags/#enable-legacy-tls.
2️. Enable the "Legacy TLS Versions" option.
3️. Restart Chrome and try accessing the printer again.

Hello again Vikram,
Thanks for your great advice!
Solution 2 with Firefox worked.
Now I just need to figure out how to fix random 1 inch wide color streaks near either or both edges of a page.
The streaks usually appear on black & white printouts.
Best regards,
Eric

Hi @Eric_DK,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm really happy Solution 2 helped with your earlier issue.
Regarding those 1-inch wide color streaks near the edges of your pages (especially on black & white prints), let’s work through some steps together to help narrow down the cause and fix it.
1. Check and Clean the Imaging Drum
- Streaking is often related to the imaging drum or toner cartridge.
- Remove each toner cartridge and gently inspect the imaging drum (the green/blue roller underneath).
- If you see toner buildup or scratches on the drum, it may need to be replaced.
2. Check Toner Cartridges
- Try removing and reseating the cartridges.
- If possible, swap the toner cartridge causing the streak (even if you’re printing black & white — color toner is still engaged on this model).
3. Run a Cleaning Page
- From the printer’s control panel, navigate to:
- Administration > Clean Page
- This will help clear any loose toner or debris from the fuser and rollers.
4. Check Transfer Belt (ETB)
- If your printer has an ETB (electrostatic transfer belt), inspect it for toner smears, scratches, or wear.
- If it’s damaged or dirty, cleaning or replacement may be needed.
5. Print Diagnostic and Configuration Pages
- Go to:
- Information > Print Configuration Page
- Check if the streaks appear here too — if they do, it’s likely a hardware issue (toner, drum, belt, or fuser).
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
