Hi @Bunyan244 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2810e printer is having trouble connecting to WiFi, try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Restart Devices: Turn off your printer, router, and computer. Wait about 30 seconds, then turn them back on.
Move Closer to the Router: Make sure the printer is within 6-8 feet of the WiFi router to get a strong signal.
Use HP Smart App for Setup: HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network)
- Download and open the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer.
- Select "Set up a new printer" and follow the prompts to connect the printer to your WiFi.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device for the setup, as it may be needed.
Confirm Printer Network Settings:
- If prompted, press and hold the printer’s Wi-Fi button (usually indicated by a small WiFi icon or light) until it blinks.
- Then press the WPS button on your router within two minutes. This will attempt to pair the printer to your network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
Update Router Settings (If Needed): HP printers - Wi-Fi connection is lost after router or network settings change
- Ensure your WiFi network is set to the 2.4 GHz band, as some HP DeskJet printers don’t support 5 GHz networks.
- Verify that your network is using WPA or WPA2 security (open networks or WEP security may not work with all printers).
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- To reset, press and hold the Wi-Fi button and the Cancel button on the printer until the Wi-Fi light blinks. Then try the setup again through the HP Smart app.
Check for Firmware Updates: Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP support website to see if there’s a firmware update for your printer. Update the firmware on an HP printer
Temporary Firewall/Antivirus Disable: Sometimes, security software on your computer can block the setup process. Try temporarily disabling it and see if that helps connect the printer.
