Hi @sporttracrags,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the connection issue with your printer:

Steps to Connect to Your Printer:

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure both your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Check the printer's network settings to confirm.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and computer to refresh the network connection.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually find updates through the printer's menu or the HP website.

Re-add the Printer:

  • On your computer, go to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • Remove the printer if it's listed, then add it again by selecting Add Printer and following the prompts.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. This can help with connecting to the printer and managing settings.

Check Firewall Settings:

  • Make sure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer's connection. You may need to temporarily disable it for testing.

Ping the Printer's IP Address:

  • Find the printer’s IP address from the printer's menu. Open Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac) and type ping <printer_ip> to see if it responds.

Reset Network Settings on the Printer:

  • If all else fails, reset the network settings on the printer and reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
