Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I have tried all the steps in this link:

Nothing is working. The printer was working fine with all 4 computers in the house. Then 1 computer started having connectivity issues to the printer and none of the troubleshooting steps have helped at all. HP Smart will find the printer and let me add it, but it won't show up in windows, and HP Smart says the status is not installed. The Print and Scan Doctor finds the printer, and then says it can't communicate with it and tells me to power cycle the printer, which I've tried like 1000 times. 

 

Please Help!

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

 Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App.

 

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

 

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

 

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

at step 9) i get this error message:

 

Failed to remove driver HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 series PCL-3. The specified printer driver is currently in use.
Failed to remove package hpygid29_v4.inf. Driver package is in use.

 

I tried restarting the computer and immediately repeating printui.exe /s  ---> remove --> i get the same error. I can't see it running anywhere in the task manager services.

Let's create a TCP IP port

 

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)

2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.

3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.

4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
