HP DeskJet 3750 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

This printer is driving me insane. It has worked more or less perfectly for a year, now it has started with numerous problems. As advised, I had removed the printer through Mac settings, now it cannot be added again and cannot be found on network connections.

I have tried everything I could find in FAQ's. I print with "WiFi Direct", but gives me absolutely no options to configure my printout.

I'd hate to have to throw this machine out the window after just a year.

This printer uses the 2.4ghz band.  If your laptop or PC is using the 5ghz band there will be a problem:  no communication.

Log into the router and ensure the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz bands have different names (SSID). Use the same password to make it easy.  Connect the printer to the 2.4ghz band on the router.  You might set the printer so it does not sleep.  Sometime they wake up and get a different IP address then they had before.  This is especially try on flex systems or where a number of Wi-Fi devices are serviced by the same router.

Access the printers embedded web page and set sleep to off or never.

Thank you BeemerBiker,

unfortunately that did not lead to any solution.

This machine seems to have a major hickup. Connected it via USB now and it is only printing in black in horrible quality. I have replaced both ink cartridges.

I give up.

General advice on printhead cleaning is here.
This link shows cleaning the 8600 printhead and removal is shown here.

This is another type of printhead cleaning, different from the above.

Cleaning and removing ink is shown below by our "Scullery" team.

An HP original video on how to clean the printheads by our experts. Yes, this can get messy, but it works. If your ink levels are good but you are printing blank pages then this is likely the solution.

Official HP advice on cleaning.

Some printers have a printhead cleaning procedure.

To clean the printhead on an HP printer, access the printer settings through the HP Smart app, navigate to "Print Quality Tools," and select "Clean Printhead"; this will initiate a cleaning cycle where the printer will automatically run a cleaning process to clear any clogs in the printhead

Inkjet and printhead cleaning kits are available

Consumer inkjet printer printheads typically last for several years, with some lasting up to 10 years or even longer. However, the lifespan can vary greatly depending on usage, maintenance, and environmental factors.

Thank you so much for your patience BeemerBiker and for your tipps. I did actually now get my printer to work using a USB-connection and cleaning. Ready to print my boarding passes for upcoming trip now! Yeah! 😊
