I have an HP9010 whose IP address changes every time I sent a print job to the printer. As a result the print job never prints. I have done some research and have come to the conclusion the problem is DHCP. How do I disable DKHCP and setup a static IP address.

Information on using / creating a manual / static IP address, an excellent "Offline" condition document, and changing the connection type to TCP/IP

Disclaimer:
If following does not apply to your router or situation, if the information makes no sense - ignore it...
Part of the configuration is completed on the router.
Different routers require similar setup to use static IP addresses.
Watch out for mis-matched IP / Mac Address pairs.
This is an unusual occurrence and your router might not even track IP / Mac Address pairs.
If a printer is configured in the router using a particular IP address,
(and)
If that printer is later removed and a new, different printer is added to the network using the same IP address,
(then)
The router will mis-match the IP to the wrong (old) Mac Address (Hardware ID).
The result: You cannot connect the new printer to the "used" IP address; conflicts, errors, and chaos ensues.
If the router tracks (logs) IP / Mac Address pairs, it would be necessary that you remove the unwanted printer (no longer connected) so the new printer can connect and use that same IP address.

Excellent.
You are welcome.
True, it is not always needful to have access to the router.
