Hi @Emma364
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining clearly 👍. On the HP DeskJet 2700e series (like the 2755e, 2720e, etc.), what you’re seeing — blinking lights, “Unavailable” in the HP Smart app, and no Wi-Fi connection — usually means the printer has dropped its saved wireless profile and is stuck waiting to be reconfigured.
Here’s how you can fix it step by step:
Step 1 – Reset network settings
With the printer powered on, press and hold the Wireless button (📶 icon) and the Cancel button (❌) together for 5 seconds.
The Wireless light should start blinking → this means it’s back in setup mode.
Step 2 – Reconnect using HP Smart
On your phone or PC, open the HP Smart app.
Make sure your device is on the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer on.
Tap Add Printer → the app should now discover your DeskJet in setup mode.
Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your Wi-Fi password and connect.
Step 3 – Router & Wi-Fi checks
Make sure your router has 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi enabled (the 2700e series does not connect to 5 GHz).
If you recently changed your Wi-Fi name or password, you’ll need to set it up again as above.
Step 4 – As a fallback
If HP Smart still won’t find it:
Connect your printer temporarily with a USB cable to your PC.
Run HP Easy Start (from HP’s support site) → it will install drivers and help push Wi-Fi credentials to the printer.
After setup, the blinking should stop and the printer will show as “Ready” in HP Smart and on your other devices.
Quick question for you: When you say “it just blinks,” do you mean the wireless light blinks, or are all lights blinking together?
If all lights blink, that’s a different error (firmware/connection fault).
If it’s just the wireless light blinking, then it’s only waiting to be reconnected.
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
