Shlomi,

Good News -- I am 98% there!

So I followed your procedure and it pretty much worked in that it reset the DHCP parameters to Automatic and now grabs an address from my router.

When doing the install the last part was print a test page and that worked however, I was not instructed to pull the USB cable before doing so, After pulling the cable and trying to print I get a message that says the printer has a problem that requires intervention and everything is now stuck in print queue. I cleared the queue, removed and reinstalled the printer and I still get the same message.

So I went to another laptop I have in the house and installed the printer on it. Virtually the same thing -- I was able to get 1 test page before I got the needed intervention message. The important thing is that it saw the printer and was able to initially connect.

I am able to get to the HP Web Configuration from either computer via it's IP address so I know I have connectivity.

I also ran the trouble shooter and the only thing it found was that it wanted to try and select the 1102 as my default. I let it do that and it reported no additional errors but I still get the needs intervention page whenever I try to print.

I'll continue to play with this last hurdle for a bit but if you have any suggestions they would be welcome.

Meanwhile thanks so much for getting me this far -- this really should not be that hard.

Jay,

Thanks again for your earlier help --- see further down at the posts from Shlomi -- They finally go me to the reset process I needed. It was a REAL struggle but I now at least have connectivity to the printers.

Hi,

If it fails to print through the wireless print queue, try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

Shlomi,

Ran the diagnostic and it still shows the Printer offline. It also flags the Device Status because I am using a non-hp cartridge (which has been working flawlessly till I had the IP problem). From HP Print and Scan I can print test pages both internal and external.

I don't understand about using the newly added print queue. I only have the one.

Jim

PS: Is there a way to upload a small PDF to show you the 2 errors - Printer Offline and Device Status - Basically all the other buttons have green checks -- these two start with a rex X while running the diagnostic and then turn to yellow! after I skip the test to proceed.
