Hi @Peebles1951,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283cdw is showing as "not connected" but the "Wireless Network Test Report" says it is connected,
here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check Printer Status:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages or warning lights.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer, computer, and router to refresh network connections.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP Support website.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Uninstall the existing printer drivers from your computer, then reinstall the latest ones.
Verify Printer Connection:
- Check if the printer is correctly connected to the network. You can print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to confirm its connection details.
Check IP Address:
- Verify that the IP address listed on the network configuration page matches the IP address used by your computer to connect to the printer.
Check Printer Status on Computer:
- Go to "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & Scanners" on your computer. Make sure your printer is set as the default printer and is not showing any errors.
Reset Printer Network Settings:
- You may need to reset the printer's network settings and set up the wireless connection again. This can usually be done through the printer's control panel under network settings.
Check Firewall/Security Settings:
- Ensure that your firewall or security software is not blocking the printer's connection. Temporarily disable any security software to test if it’s causing the issue.
Try a Wired Connection:
- If possible, connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable to see if it works. This can help determine if the issue is with the wireless connection.
