I bought this printer years ago and it worked fine until I moved to a different apartment with a new WiFi. It has never been able to connect to it, I have tried the setup through the ip address as well as trying to use the hp smart app but nothing has worked. When I used the ip method, I was able to enter in my WiFi information and everything but the printer was still not able to actually connect to the WiFi.

Wi-Fi setup is hard to do when the printer has only a minimal control panel.
There is a video here that might be useful. You will need a smartphone or a laptop that has bluetooth

You may need to pair the device first. Usually HP Smart can do the bluetooth pairing automatically.
Do not program the printer for "Wi-Fi direct" please have it connect permanently to the modem/router
You may need to do a factory reset
Connection is described on page 22 but the pushbutton method is not possible in a flat unless you have your own modem.
