I continue to receive the error code even after resetting. What can I do to resolve the issue? Thanks.

To fix error code 0XDB0436BC (KERNEL_EXEC_ST) on your HP Envy 5055, perform a hard power reset and clear out residual electrical charge.[ref_1, ref_2]

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  • Leave the printer turned on.
  • Unplug the power cord directly from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Disconnect any USB or LAN cables attached to the printer.
  • Wait for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Press and hold the printer's Power button for about 30 seconds to drain all remaining power.
  • Plug the power cord straight into a wall outlet (bypass any surge protectors or extension cords), then plug the other end back into the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait for it to finish its warm-up cycle.[ref_1, ref_2]

Step 2: Turn Off IPv6 (If the Error Persists)

Network communication glitches can trigger kernel or firmware execution stalls on the HP Envy 5055:

  • On the printer's front control panel home screen, swipe or go to Network Setup or Settings.
  • Select Network Settings > Advanced Settings > IPv6.

Step 3: Check Carriage Path & Firmware

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and verify there are no paper jams, dust, or physical obstructions in the carriage path.
  • Gently slide the cartridge carriage left and right to make sure it moves smoothly.
