HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

I sell online, so I need to fix this.
I did all the firmware update, etc.  Ever since the Windows 11 update that messed everyone up, I been having issues with everything.  Not sure if the update has anything to do with the current issue of printing.
Or possibly another update with HP or something caused a problem.
The blue light next to the wifi/internet symbol is on and steady ~it's not blinking.

Up til a couple weeks ago, I could print from both my Kindle Fire and my Enduro. But now I've tried various things, like uninstalling and reinstalling apps, using the printer code to add the printer (even though it was already showing as connected.
Just so much. I can't figure it out.

Please help me. Thank you.

Hi @jgunn03,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue. Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the printing problems with your HP Envy 5055.

Check Printer Status

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your devices.
  • The steady blue light next to the Wi-Fi symbol indicates that the printer is connected to the network, so the issue is likely not with the network connection.

Restart Devices

  • Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Router: Restart your Wi-Fi router to refresh the connection.
  • Devices: Restart both your tablet and Windows 11 laptop.

Update Printer Software

  • HP Software: Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your devices. Sometimes, updating or reinstalling the HP Smart app can resolve connection issues.
  • Drivers: Check if there are any updated drivers for the HP Envy 5055 on the HP Support website. Download and install the latest drivers if available.

Reconfigure Printer on Devices

  • Windows 11:
    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
    2. Find your HP Envy 5055 in the list, click on it, and select Remove device.
    3. Click Add a printer or scanner to re-add the printer.
    4. Follow the prompts to add the printer again.
  • Kindle Fire:
    1. Open the Settings app.
    2. Go to Printers.
    3. Remove and re-add the HP Envy 5055.

Check for Windows Update Issues

  • Sometimes, Windows updates can cause compatibility issues. Ensure your Windows 11 system is fully updated:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Check for updates and install any pending updates.
  • Check if there are any specific updates related to printing or HP devices.

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • HP offers a tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can diagnose and resolve common printing problems. Download and run this tool to see if it can identify and fix the issue.

Check Printer’s Network Connection

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel. This will show you the current network settings and help you verify that the printer is on the correct network.

Reset the Printer

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer if none of the above steps work. This will reset the printer to its default settings and may resolve the issue:
    1. Navigate to the Setup menu on the printer.
    2. Select Printer Maintenance or Settings.
    3. Choose Restore Network Settings or Reset All Settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
