Hi @wilsoncheryl,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the printer.
If your HP Envy Photo 7155 printer is completely unresponsive and the power button isn't working, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
1. Perform a Power Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source while it's turned on.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. If it powers on, check if it's responsive.
2. Check the Power Source
- Ensure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet rather than a power strip or surge protector. Sometimes these devices can interfere with the power supply.
- Try plugging the printer into a different wall outlet to rule out a power issue with the outlet.
3. Reset Printer by Holding Power Button
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to force the printer to power off (if it’s still somewhat responsive). If the printer turns off, wait for a few seconds and turn it back on.
4. Check for Physical Damage or Obstructions
- Inspect the power cord and connections for any visible damage or loose connections.
- Ensure no obstructions (like paper jams) are inside the printer that could be causing it to become unresponsive.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Once you get the printer to respond, ensure that the firmware is updated to the latest version. Use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start on your Mac to check for firmware updates.
- Sometimes, firmware issues can cause hardware malfunctions, and updating the firmware may resolve this. Or
- Click here to update firmware from the HP website.
6. Reset the Printer (if it becomes responsive)
- If the printer becomes responsive, you can perform a factory reset from the printer’s control panel by navigating to the Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
If none of the above steps work and the printer remains completely unresponsive, it may indicate a hardware failure. At this point, it's advisable to contact HP support for repair or replacement options.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
