Hello. I have an HP LaserJet M209dw. I have moved apartments 3 times now, the printer worked lovely in the first 2. In the third apartment I was forced to make a new wifi network. I named it the exact same thing. The printer says it is connected, ready to print, and never prints anything and just keeps saying error but doesn't say what the issue is. I thought maybe the printer is getting confused because it is a new network but with the same name as the previous one. So, I changed the name and reconnected to it. Still no printing. Please let me know what I can do. I am not extremely knowledgable about software stuff and connectivity, but I did follow steps on Wireless Configuration when I connected to the printer's wifi connection and then put this in my browser: 92.168.223.1 and followed the steps to connect to my personal wifi connection.

Also, whenever I input my serial number AND THEN the product number it says it is all wrong. Even though that is literally from the only thing my printer is able to print (when I hit the information button).  Thanks in advance for any help. I've been at this for a little over a week.

Hi @diana55t,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet M209dw printer is not connecting to your Wi-Fi network after changing your Wi-Fi settings, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Wi-Fi Settings on the Printer:

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and has a stable Wi-Fi connection. Check the printer's display for any error messages related to Wi-Fi connectivity.

Restart the Printer:

  • Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can help it reconnect to the Wi-Fi network. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Check Your Wi-Fi Network:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi network is working correctly and that other devices can connect to it without any issues.

Verify Wi-Fi Credentials:

  • Double-check the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password (security key) that you entered into the printer. Ensure they are correct and haven't changed.

Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Access the printer's control panel or display, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings, and attempt to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network. Follow the on-screen instructions.

WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  • If your router supports WPS, you can use this feature to simplify the Wi-Fi setup. Press the WPS button on your router and then initiate WPS on your printer (usually via the control panel). The devices should pair automatically.

Reset Network Settings:

  • As a last resort, you can reset the printer's network settings to default and then set up the Wi-Fi connection from scratch. Consult your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a network reset.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. HP often release firmware updates that can improve compatibility and resolve connectivity issues.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or interference sources (e.g., other electronic devices) that could be affecting the Wi-Fi signal to the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
