Hello,
I bought this printer in 2020, when I moved to remote work. I am now back, but still use it on occasion. I was previously able to use it to print wirelessly, but now can only use if I bring my computer to it an hook it up with the wire that came with the printer. Now, the little blue "Wireless button and LED" flashes nonstop, unless I push it to turn off WiFi. I am running Mac OS Sequoia 15.5. Here is what I have tried:
- I have followed the directions on this page to "Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer," for a wireless printer without a screen. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3967769-3956733-16
- I uninstalled the printer from my computer. I downloaded HP EasyStart to my computer, then used the "Uninstall HP Software" on the dropdown menu. I re-downloaded HP EasyStart and used it to try to set up my printer. No devices are found.
- I downloaded HP Smart to try to reinstall the printer. No printer shows up for my computer when I am running HP Smart. I have tried both "New printer" and "Already connected to a network," with the same results. I followed the directions here to "Set up your printer using HP Smart (Recommended install)" https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Knowledge-Base/Set-up-your-printer-using-HP-Smart-Recommended...
- I printed a Wireless Network Test Report, which says "Wireless On: Pass" and "Wireless Working: Pass," but then says "Network Name (SSID) Found: Fail"
- I have opened my computer's WiFi settings and looked for the HP-Setup-... network. It is not there.
- I have tried following the directions here for "Printer Changing WiFi Network/Password," thinking that maybe I could just find the WiFi that way https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Wireless-Networking-Internet/M203dw-Printer-Changing-WiFi-Netw...
- I have tried pressing and holding the Wireless and Cancel buttons until both lights blink, then tried all of the above steps again.
- I turned off the printer, held down the WiFi button, pressed the Power button, and continued holding the WiFi button while the printer powers on, then tried all of the above steps again.
- I followed directions here to "Connect the printer with the Wireless Setup Wizard (printers without a touchscreen)" https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printers-Knowledge-Base/Connect-HP-printer-using-192-168-223-1-IP/ta-p...
NOTHING WORKS! How do I link my printer, which appears to have WiFi capabilities, to my current WiFi, when my computer does not "talk" to the printer, so I can't see what the printer is "thinking" or tell the printer to hook up to my home's WiFi?
FWIW, I have spent probably 6+ hours, over months, trying to fix this. I have spent about 3-4 hours working on it today, looking up other solutions, etc.
HP FOLKS, I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER PRINTER FROM YOU! THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
If anyone in the community can help me out, that would be great.

Hi @rfd611aa,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer's connectivity!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Restart Devices: Restart your printer, computer, and wireless router. This can resolve temporary networking issues.
Verify Network Settings: Ensure that your router is on and that WiFi is enabled. Check that your printer is within range of the WiFi network and there are no obstructions.
Reconnect the Printer to WiFi:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for at least three seconds until the light starts blinking.
- On your computer, go to System Preferences > Network, and make sure you're connected to the same network.
- Use the HP Smart app to reconnect your printer to the WiFi network. The HP Smart app can guide you through setting up the WiFi connection again.
Reset Network Settings on Printer: Restore the printer's network settings to the default and set it up again:
- Turn off the printer.
- Turn it back on, and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button simultaneously until the power light starts blinking.
Update Firmware: Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.
Check Security Settings: Ensure your router’s settings (such as firewalls or MAC filtering) are not preventing the printer from connecting.
I hope this helps.
