My HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 series has only been able to print from my iPhone's browser, PDF files on my computer (via Adobe), and the HP Smart App. I am unable to print directly from a document or webpage - instead, I have to download or screenshot the thing I'm trying to print and re-upload it into the HP Smart app. This is super redundant and time-consuming!
My computer is able to wirelessly find the printer and send jobs to it without using the app. The printer is on and the app says the connection is steady. But any time I try to print something simple from something other than HP Smart or Adobe reader, the job just doesn't seem to send. It might show up in the printer queue for 30 seconds and then disappear. This has been the case since I've had the printer.

Hi@igby, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
HP Printer Converting to Word from PDF format requires software that is not generally included in the standard printing software.
When the Full Feature Software is installed, a shortcut icon to the Printer Assistant is added to the Desktop.
Open the Printer Assistant > select tab Print, Scan & Fax
Select tab Scan
Select Scan a Document or Photo
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi, thank you for your reply!
I am on a Mac and wondering how to print from a webpage. As of right now, I have to screenshot or copy/paste and save these things as .pdf files, then open them in my computer's .pdf viewer to print. Same goes for any photos or documents - I have to save them as .pdfs or open them through the HP Smart app.
Is there a way to bypass the middle steps? My computer is wirelessly connected to my printer without connection issues.

Hi@igby,
Reasons Behind Why You Can’t Print a PDF File on Mac
1.) Update Mac.
2.) Update Printer’s firmware.
3.) Add printer as AirPrint.
4.) Update the PDF software.
