I have a brand new 8710 that I purchased in January. I work from home and my print needs are not heavy. However to date I've probably spent around 8 hours trying to get this printer to work. So far the only success I've had is un-installing and re-installing the printer each time I want to use it. However this hit a bug when I tried to print a document that was more than just a few pages as the printer shifted to offline mid-print.
I've tried contacting HP tech support through the website and a phone number that was provided. To no avail. Not that I was given solutions that didn't work, but rather couldn't not connecting with anyone who could help. So just a complete waste of time.
This printer is brand new and not inexpensive. So as you can imagine its pretty frustrating to have this giant expensive hunk of plastic in my office that should be a working printer.
I have a suspicion that I need a driver update but the HP Smart app won't allow me to just download and update the driver. That being said it could definitely be something else.
Any help or paths to success out there would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's restore the network settings on the Printer:
1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Network Setup. 3. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored. 4. Touch Yes
Once done, connect the Printer back to the Wi-Fi.
Let me know if this helps.

Hi @betty0610
Unfortunately this didn't work.
However, my partner was able to use the printer without a problem. She is running Big Sur on her Mac. Both of my Mac's are running Monterey and are having connectivity issues.
The HP app is no helpful. Is there a way to directly download Monterey compatible drivers for this computer?

Unfortunately no. Let's do a root level uninstall : please delete from /Users/Username/Library/Application Support/HP Smart. Then delete HP Smart from the Applications folder and reinstall from the Mac App Store
