When launched, HP Utility advises, "unable to communicate with selected device." I can send print commands and Easy Scan locates the AIO fine. I have run the firmware update from 2020. I am connected by WIFI which seems to works as far as printing and scanning goes. Utility just can't find the device. Best. Mike.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Ensure that the Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the Mac software:
Remove and add the printer
Click the Apple menu, and then select System Preferences.
Depending on your operating system version, click Print & Fax, Print & Scan, or Printers & Scanners.
Click the name of your printer, click the Minus sign and then delete the printer.
Click the Plus sign and then click Add Printer or Scanner.
Click the Use or Print Using box, and then select AirPrint
Click Add to add the printer to the list.
Try to print.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Betty0610: My Mac software is up to date. I have removed my printer and re-added it successfully. My printer is recognized by my iMac, accepts print jobs, and prints them just fine. Again, the problem is specifically with HP Utility. When launched, I get the dread "unable to communicate with this device" message. All the indications in the HP Utility app indicate "unknown" in most categories. This would seem to point to a problem with HP Utility itself as all print functions work properly through my Wifi. I cannot point to any unusual occurrence between when it was and wasn't working. The only thing I can recall is a firmware update from 2020 from your website. Thank goodness, I can print and get what I need. But, if I need to do any diagnostics, align or clean print heads, I'm out of luck until this is resolved. Thank you for your attention and anticipate solution. Best. Mike.
