I tried all solutions listed here what worked for me was the following.
When the message pops up click on the ? and select see in folder, delete any HP folders ONLY!!! After that remove the printer from System preference, remove the HP software and lastly do a First aid on the HDD. Restart the computer, install the printer from System preference than download the software "hp-printer-essentials-S-5_14_8_4" from HP website, restart and the message is gone, at least in my case.

Hi Maggie107, this is a forum it is not HP answering, solutions are given by normal people. Any how make sure you have downloaded the software after uninstalling it, if you saved it in the task bar, prior removal the icon stays but there is no application

Honestly I don't remember what I did exactly. This is because I tried a number of things and none of them worked. So I don't remember which one actually worked.
I'm sure that I followed the suggest ideas - downloading HP_Easy_start and trying to execute it. I don't think it actually executed. So I deleted from my machine as I have enough stuff on my machine which doesn't work. I poked around on my machine (a MAC) in applications and found one named HP Smart. I invoked that one and followed a couple of menus to drop support for the printer - so hopefully I could start fresh. Then I set the printer too my printer. After a little time it seemed to install everything from scratch and voila - my printer worked - which it hadn't been before.
Alas - the **bleep** pop-up was still there and wouldn't go a way. I rebooted my machine and the pop-up was gone and now things seem to be smooth as silk. Hope this helps.

Hello,
I have the same issue "HP DriverCore Framework" will damage your computer- Report malware to Apple to protect other users. I went to HP start help put in Printer -Photosmart C4280 All-in-one. Downloaded supposedly printer driver only to be taken back to a page that basically explains how newer printers are driverless and use wireless printing. I think what HP is saying is go buy a new printer.

I actually removed my printer from the computer by deleting everything in Applications associated with HP and then removed the HP Printer from settings as well. I then re-added the HP Printer in settings. Someone above suggested this above so I tried it. The annoying pop ups have disappeared but I had to download the HP Smart Icon because my scanner would not connect to the printer wifi but I can now scan using HP Smart. I also downloaded the HP Easy Scan but my scanner did not work so I tried the HP Smart download instead and it works.
Actually I finally figured out how to get the easy scan to work. Make sure you select 'Last Used Settings' for Presets and the scanner works.
