I have a HP Deskjet 2545 with a manual that is lost. I cannot connect to it on my phone without the password but I was wondering if there was a way to recover it.

Hi @JiJi22,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out! If you've lost the manual for your HP DeskJet 2545 and can't connect to it via your phone because you don't know the Wi-Fi password, here are a few ways to recover or reset it:

Option 1: Find the Wi-Fi Direct Password

Your printer may be using Wi-Fi Direct, which has a default password printed on a label.

  • Check the printer itself:
    • Look for a label near the cartridge access areaback panel, or bottom of the printer.
    • It may say something like:
      Wi-Fi Direct Name: HP-Print-xx-DeskJet 2540
      Password: 12345678

Option 2: Print Network Configuration Page

You can print a page that shows the current network settings, including the Wi-Fi Direct password.

  • Steps:
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Wireless and Information buttons together until a page prints.
    3. Look for Wi-Fi Direct settings on the page.

Option 3: Restore Network Settings

If you can't find the password, you can reset the network settings and set it up again.

  • Steps:
    1. Turn on the printer.
    2. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
    3. The wireless light will start blinking, indicating it's in setup mode.

Then, use the HP Smart app on your phone to reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
