Is anyone else having a problem from printing from their IPhone or IPad.  My operating system is IOS17.2.1 .  I can print from my laptop which is a HP , just not from my iPad or IPhone .  This problem seems to started happening in the last few weeks .  When trying to print & I click to use my printer ., it starts “thinking “ about supplies.  But it will not let me select the printer .  It’s like it is hanging up on supplies .

Welcome to the HP Community --

I just updated from 17.1.2 to iOS 17.2.1 (iPhone) -- all good.

Both HP Smart and Airprint are (still) working.

Airprint does allow selection of the printer to be used to print the current opened file --

HP Smart is already set to include both the printers on our network -- no change after the iOS update --

So - what?

Not sure, though I think the iOS update / version change is not the source of the issue.

True -- Airprint or HP Smart should not hang on checking supplies or refuse to select / open the printer.

If you've not done so, try / consider:

Restart everything - including your network

Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).

AND

The printer and device (computer, tablet, phone) where HP Smart is installed / running should be on the same network.

What?  Make sure your phone and iPad are connected to the same network as the printer.

For example, If your phone is connected to your Data line, that is not the same network as the printer.

It does not sound like an app issue (broken code / app).  Regardless, if you have not already tried it, perhaps uninstall the app from the iPhone, Restart the device (shut it off - wait a few seconds - Start) > Get a new copy of the app from the App store.
