HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

This is my first time reaching out so please forgive my rambling.

After I downloaded the HP Smart app I can no longer print remotely from my devices, albeit phone, tablet, android or apple.  The only way I can print now is be reconnecting my hardwire back up and printing through my desktop.  I've been on HP's site and downloaded their firmware update to no avail.

I'm at a crossroad, unsure which path to take.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Scott

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer: Touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then select Yes. A message appears stating that the network defaults have been restored.

Once done, connect the printer to the Wi-Fi: .On the printer control panel, touch (right arrow), touch Setup, and then touch Network. Touch Wireless, touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Let me know if this helps.

Betty,

Thank you for your quick reply back to me.  We're getting closer to my 8600 problem.  I can now print out "printer status report"  and " wireless network test results" and I'm sure others without out a problem.   However,  I'm still having problems with printing out everything else whether it be a picture, something from the internet or a document I've done in Word.  When I try to print anything other than test or result pages for the printer (which again come out great) I get a single blank page.

Thank you again,

Scott

Is it from all devices or a certain device? Uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart App and try: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_2073929-1413451-16

My wife has an IPad and the kids have iphones that work perfectly.  The desktop also prints without a problem.  The hassle comes from the android devices.

I deleted the smart app and reinstalled it via the web address you suggested to no avail.  The app finds my printer without a problem but I can not find the "Printer claim code" it talks about.

You do not need a claim code to connect actually. If your other devices work except Android, I don't see an issue with the Printer here.

May be you can restore the network settings on the Android phones and try connecting again.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Which Printer do you have?

Thanks 🙂

I agree with StefanJohnsson, ALL my devices printed without flaw until this hp smart app came out and now I can't  from my android devices.

I've done as you requested, restored my network settings and although this still allowed me to print from my apple devices (which have never been an issue) my androids are still a flop (it still kicks out a single  page whether it's a photo or document).

Since you're able to print from Apple devices and the Computer, I request you to contact the Android phone manufacturer for further help on this.

Well Ms. Betty since I see there are 3 other "me too's"  in the recent days looking for answers I don't think that it's my android problem.  I have three phones and a tablet all android that worked perfectly with the old app and then you introduce this update and they all do the same thing.

They all cause the printer to spit out one blank page.

Please provide the old app or fix this new one.  I don't want to have to tell all my family members to contact android to get the run around when we know were the root of the cause is and where we'll be directed right back to.

Fix it or I'm done with HP.  Don't push me off on someone else.
