Hi. I started using my HP2732 all in one printer for first time and after set up was only able to print from my iPhone wirelessly. When I try to print from my MacBook the doc stays in queue and says stopped. The scan function, however, from the mac works without any problem but the print seems to get held up in the queue for some reason. Any suggestions?

Hi @dcote63,
I'd like to help!
Try the below suggestions-
Clear the print queue-
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.
Select the printer you used in the list at the left, then click Open Print Queue > delete the jobs in the print queue
Add the AirPrint printer to the Mac printer queue
Confirm you are using AirPrint by adding the printer in System Preferences.
-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
Figure : Example of the Printers & Scanners window
-
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
-
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed in the Add Printer or Scanner window, go to the Frequently asked questions in this document to resolve connection issues, try to add the printer again, and then continue to the next step.
-
-
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.
Figure : AirPrint displays in the Use menu
-
Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi. Went through all of the suggestions and the end result was exactly the same. Print queue showed the print job STOPPED. Not sure why scan function works and print does not but it does.
After removing the printer in System Prefs, I had to add it back through HP Smart because when I tried to add it back through System Prefs, I received a communication error stating "An error occurred while trying to add the selected device". Once I added it back with HP Smart, I could use the scanner function again only. Firmware was already updated, btw.
The only other thing I can think of is I have Xfinity (Comcast) Internet Wifi and the router has two networks, a 2.4 and 5.0 which I have merged into one Password. I was told that the networks will toggle to whichever is needed. Could this affect it?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, make sure your printer and the computer is connected to the same network.
Let's try the below steps to see if that helps -
1.) Remove All Barriers: Certain building materials can get in the way of weaker signals like Bluetooth. Metal, bulletproof glass, concrete, and plaster are particularly bad, and marble, plaster and brick aren’t great easy. So if you’re really struggling with interference, your first step should be to move your Bluetooth devices away from these materials. That means no brick walls between you and your devices, and definitely no metal desks!
2.) Change Router Channel: If you have an Apple router and you’re constantly getting interference with your WiFi, try rebooting it. Upon restart, the station will search for a new channel. Specifically, a different channel than the one your Bluetooth devices is using to communicate. If you don’t have an Apple router, you may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.
3.) Move Closer to Your Router: If you often find that you’re getting interference when talking on a wireless headset while on a WiFi call (you’ll know because you’ll hear static), try moving closer to your router. This will give you a more robust WiFi connection, so the Bluetooth frequency can’t overpower it.
4.) Get Away From Microwaves and Fluorescent Lighting: Both emit frequencies of 2.4GHz, and moving away from them will distance you from the source.
I'd like to know the following to isolate the issue further-
1.) What is the distance between the router and the printer?
2.) Is there an antivirus software installed on your Mac?
3.) Could you perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results? Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by selecting the wireless icon on the printer display.
The wireless status menu on your Mac should also give us quite a lot of information that would help us identify the issue. You can press and hold option-click the WiFi icon and then use shift-command-5 to take the screenshot. Press the space bar when the icon turns into a camera. Share the ping test results and the screenshot with us.
Also, check with your Internet service provider if your router is able to forward 'Bonjour packets'. Bonjour locates devices such as printers, other computers, and the services that those devices offer on a local network using multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) service records. The software comes built-in with Apple's macOS and iOS operating systems.
Keep me posted !

Hi.
1) Printer is about three feet from the Router
2) No antivirus software is on Mac
I have the screen shots of the Ping test and Wireless Status but I'm not sure how to add to this message. I thought I could just drag into reply, but the image ends up looking like this even if I save as jpg:
I've never used a forum or sent screen shots before so I apologize.

Let's try an restore the network on the printer and reconnect the printer.
Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel together for three seconds.
Please try the steps below to connect your printer to the network.
-->On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Resume button together for three seconds. (When Wi-Fi Direct is turned on, the Wi-Fi Direct icon on the display stays on)
--->On your computer or phone go to wifi and connect it to your printer
--->Select your printer with DIRECT in the name from the list of available networks (example: DIRECT-74-HP Deskjet2700).
--->Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer signal in Wi-Fi settings
--->If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in.
--->Now open a browser and type 192.168.223.1
--->you will be able to access the printer's EWS page
--->on the page, you will find network - click on it
--->go to wireless and select wireless setup wizard
--->now select the network that you want your printer to connect to and type in the password
--->the printer will have solid blue light if it's connected
--->then connect your phone back to your network
Keep me posted!

I was not able join the network DIRECT-74-HP Deskjet2700 with password 12345678. I received message that it was an invalid password. Tried from Mac and iPhone and received same message on both.
I then powered down router and printer and setup printer again. After completing setup I tried to print and I had same issue with "stopped" in print queue. Scan still works from both devices and can only print from iPhone.

I just completed wifi direct and was able to print a single page from MacBook however, lost all connection with my iPhone. I ended up having to start from scratch, removing printer and doing setup like when I first received the printer. I can print again from my iPhone but still get "stopped" in queue when printing from my MacBook. At this point I'm going to just accept that and print from my iPhone. I believe this has something to do with my network wifi so If I find anything worthwhile from speaking with my internet provider I will update. Thanks for your assistance!
