HP ENVY Photo 7858 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP ENVY Photo All-in-One 7858 Printer recently installed on Windows 10 computer.  Status report states printer is running ON-LINE and connected to computer.  I'm able to print test page but printer will not print from internet or saved document files.  There were no error messages and troubleshooter indicated no problems.  Found no solution in HP Owners Manual.

How can this problem be solved?

Hi @LS718,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo All-in-One 7858 printer is able to print a test page but won't print from the internet or saved document files, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide:

Check Printer Queue:

  • Open the Control Panel on your Windows 10 computer.
  • Go to "Devices and Printers."
  • Right-click on your HP ENVY printer and select "See what's printing."
  • In the window that opens, check if there are any stuck print jobs in the queue. If there are, try cancelling them and then attempt to print again.

Printer Default:

  • Ensure that your HP ENVY printer is set as the default printer. To do this, right-click on the printer in the "Devices and Printers" window and select "Set as default printer."

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer. Install them on your Windows 10 computer.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the same network as your Windows 10 computer. You can check this by printing a network configuration page from the printer.
  • Make sure that the printer is properly connected to your computer either via USB or over the network.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve printing issues. Turn off both your printer and computer, wait a few minutes, and then turn them back on.

Disable Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Your firewall or antivirus software may block communication between your computer and the printer. Temporarily disable them and try printing again. If it works, you can then adjust the firewall/antivirus settings to allow printer communication.

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure that the print settings for the documents you are trying to print are correct. Sometimes, documents may be set to print to a different printer or with incorrect settings.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • If your printer is connected over Wi-Fi, check the Wi-Fi connection and make sure it's stable. You may want to restart your router if necessary.

Reinstall the Printer:

  • If none of the above steps work, try removing the printer from your Windows 10 computer and then reinstalling it. To do this, go to "Devices and Printers," right-click on your printer, and select "Remove device." Then, go through the process of adding the printer again.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue preventing your HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer from printing internet pages and saved documents.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
