I have spent over $3,500 on Metaverse Techs and now have "Lifetime Protection." What a con! Today I was notified that my devices were at risk and I needed to spend more money because my devices were corrupted. I needed Advance Dark Web Protection and Antitrojan Cyber Network Security! ON top of that they took a lot of my time easing me into all the problems I had that needed fixing before springing this news on me. Avoid!

I am sorry this happened to you!
That company has been reported again and again as a site to absolutely avoid for their presumed evil practices.
HP and other companies spend a lot of money, time, and effort to eradicate the perpetrators of these kinds of scams -- it is an endless battle between good and evil. Looking from the outside, it can appear the best defense is still in the hands of the consumer to stay out of well laid traps.
Yes, your loss is perhaps amongst the more unfortunate extremes - "got you good", they did.
What if?
If you let them into your computer, consider all the data on that device to be possibly compromised, including documents, photos of your family, unencrypted medical records, possibly your email.
Change every password.
Check that they did not leave monitoring malware on your system.
I will forward your comments to our Moderator group.
Should there be a response, look for a message here before the agent uses other means to contact you.
NO - HP will not suddenly call you on the phone, text you, or send a mystery "Chat" request.
Consider
Contact your bank -
Report the incident to the authorities -

I also was referred to Metaverse by HP when I contacted them re a HP printer issue. Long story short, I bought a
Life subscription from them for computer security. Spent $3500. Recently told I needed an update….. cost another $3500. I told them they were scammers and they screwed up my email in retaliation.

HP did not recommend this site.
You landed on a Not-HP site and continued until you were snared in a trap.
It is sad but it is not of HP's doing.
Even so, I do understand why you are unhappy - it's a hard lesson.
