Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this HP LaserJet PRO 283 FDW printer awhile back. Initially setup was easy and the printer worked fairly consistently. Over time it has become a major PITA dealing with this printer as it disconnects from wifi and wont show up on my list most times to re-add. I have turned it off and on, reset settings and sometimes if I remove the printer from my laptop devices and then re-add, it will work for awhile before once again disconnecting without any warning or reason. However, now I cant even get the printer to show up to connect via wifi. It shows up for wifi direct but then again, the pword fails to work............

I have NEVER had an issue like this with a printer and have probably had a hundred different ones over the years in my business, most of which were HP's. Never have I had such problems just getting a printer to connect.

I believe that the wifi card in this printer is defective......especially after seeing all of the online posts from people with the same problem.

I am about to take this back to Staples where I purchased it if I cant get a solid resolution to this problem.

The problem is not me as I have setup countless printers over the years. This is a printer issue with maintaining wifi connection......and ALL of my other devices have no issue connecting to our wifi so I also know its not a signal strength issue.

I also tried the WiFi direct option and looked at the settings. It tells me the generic pword is a series of numbers. So I tried to connect via wifi direct and when I enter this pword it tells me something went wrong and to try again or contact support.

I am beyond frustrated with the huge amount of time I have wasted trying to get this thing to work.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
