Hi!

I have just installed my new HP Envy Inspire 7200e and i have created a Shortcut to send the scan to my presetted email.

Every time I try the shortcut from the printer panel i get ann error message that says thr printer was unable to connect to the server.

The same gose for other shortcuts, like send to Googledrive.

P.S. the shortcuts work if i start them from my hp smart app.

P.S. i active allow access to my printer for one year.

Thanks in advance for the help

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

The printers in this series support "Scan to PC"

Digital Sending Standard FeaturesScan to PC

Scan to PC requires a supported Operating System / version and installation of the full driver printer software.

Using the Shortcuts from within HP Smart is the correct (and supported) way to use the setup.

Note

This series includes several models - none of these support (EWS) Profile setup SMTP / Scan to email or (for example) Scan to Network folder.

You are welcome.

Sorry for the lack of clarity.

As far as I can find in any documentation,

The HP Smart shortcuts do not work from the printer control panel.

HP Smart Shortcuts are intended to be used within the HP Smart application.

"Scan to Email" as configured at the printer control panel requires that the printer be capable of using SMTP and a profile set up and created on the printer.  I cannot find anything that shows that the printer supports SMTP based Scan to Email.

HP Smart, using a Windows, MacOS, or a mobile device, supports "Share" to Email.

HP Smart - Shortcuts - supports send / print / save (to Cloud storage).

Assuming for the moment that what you are describing is actually possible,

Be aware that many email providers now require additional email security:

Switch ON 2-Step Verification

Create and use an App Password in place of the user's normal email account password.

True - I could be missing something.
