Hi @Prasanna24,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Network Connection
- Move closer to router: Ensure that the printer and router are close to each other to improve signal strength.
- Check Internet connection: Verify that your internet connection is working by opening a website on your computer or mobile device.
- Restart router: Restart the Wi-Fi router by unplugging the power cord, waiting for 15 seconds, and then plugging it back in.
Restart Devices
- Restart printer: Turn the printer off and then back on to reset any error conditions.
- Restart computer/mobile device: Reboot the device you are using to set up the printer.
Enable Wi-Fi Setup Mode
- Enter Wi-Fi setup mode: On the printer control panel, press the Information button
for three seconds until all buttons on the control panel light up.
- Reset factory settings: Press the Information button and Cancel button simultaneously until "00" displays and the Wi-Fi button
blinks.
Attempt to Reconnect
- Follow setup guides: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and follow the prompts to reconnect the printer.
- Wi-Fi Password: Make sure you enter the correct Wi-Fi password when prompted in the HP Smart app.
- Printer display interactions: If prompted on the printer during setup, touch the check icon on the message "App is attempting to set up this printer."
Additional Steps
- Use Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer or mobile device during the setup process if prompted.
- Mobile device location service: Enable the mobile device’s location service and allow the HP Smart app to access your location for proper printer detection.
I hope this helps.

@Prasanna24, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Check for IP Address Conflict
Try manually assigning an IP address to the printer via the printer's control panel.
Go to the printer’s Network Settings > Wireless > Wi-Fi Direct or Network Configuration Page.
You may see a "Manual IP" option. Try assigning an unused IP address that matches your router’s range (e.g., 192.168.1.x).
Reset Network Settings on Printer
Sometimes, resetting the network settings can help clear up any misconfigurations.
Reset network settings on your HP Smart Tank 670 by pressing the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time.
This should reset the network settings, and you’ll be able to set up the printer on Wi-Fi from scratch.
Disable "Web Services"
Try disabling Web Services (HP ePrint) from the printer’s Settings > Web Services menu and then attempt to reconnect to Wi-Fi.
After this, see if the printer shows up as available in the HP Smart app.
Connect via WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)
If your router supports WPS, try this method instead of manually entering the Wi-Fi password:
On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless button to enter setup mode.
On your router, press the WPS button (usually located on the back of the router).
The printer should automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Ensure Router Settings are Correct
SSID Broadcast: Make sure your router is broadcasting its SSID (network name) and that it isn’t hidden.
Channel Conflicts: Ensure your router is set to a Wi-Fi channel that’s compatible with the printer (e.g., channel 1, 6, or 11 for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi).
2.4 GHz Band: Make sure your router is broadcasting in the 2.4 GHz range. Some printers only connect to the 2.4 GHz band, not the 5 GHz band.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
