Hi @Natluther,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding connecting your printer to Wi-Fi without knowing the password!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Your Router or ISP Documentation:

  • Often, the default Wi-Fi password is printed on a sticker on the router or contained in the ISP's setup documentation. Look for terms like WPA, WEP, or network key.

Access Router Settings:

  • You can access your router's settings via a connected device. Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address (usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1). You'll need admin credentials to log in and view or reset the Wi-Fi password.

Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup):

  • If both your router and printer support WPS, you can connect them without needing the password:
    • Press the WPS button on your router.
    • Within a few minutes, press the Wireless button or the WPS button on your printer.
    • This should connect your device automatically.

Reset Router to Factory Settings (As Last Resort):

  • This will reset the password to default and remove all custom settings. Only do this if you have documentation of all necessary configuration settings or can easily reconfigure your network.

Reconfigure Wi-Fi Network:

  • If admin access proves difficult, you can sometimes reset the Wi-Fi network setup from your computer, using network settings to reconfigure connections and preferences.

I hope this helps.
