Factory reset instructions pls. I need to "hard" reset my printer. None of the instructions via web interface works.
Why send via priate message? Can you please send the instructions here? everybody(!) is having those problems. I don't thibk I will buy another HP printer if I cannot solve this problem. I cannot wifi-direct connect to the printer either. Neither the 12345678 password nor the one it prints out work. what a headache!!!!
I have already spent more 4 hours on that issue.
Thanks for understanding my frustration.

Hi all,
HERE IS THE SOLUTION FOR HARD RESET, all you need is your fingers:
Press and hold on Resume/Cancel button for 20 seconds.
Without releasing Resume/Cancel, turn off then turn on the printer
Keep pressing Resume/Cancel for about a minute. The printer will cycle a few procedures. You will observe something like this (I am not sure about the orderm but you'll get it): First green starts blinking, then it becomes solid, then it goes off. Then red starts blinking and disappears. Then both green and red blinks and go off. I do not remeber the exact order but just keep pressing Resume/Cancel without releasing it at all about a minute until no more activity happens for about 15 secs.
Now you can use the HP Smart App (or HP Easy Setup software) to set it up from scratch. I hope this helps. I have spent more than 5 hours today and more before. I can't believe HP does not provide this info anywhere. If you did not set up an admin password, you do not need that. You can follow the HP-recommended factory reset etc. But if you had set up a password and then forgot about it (like me), you will need a hard reset.
Long story short: Press and hold Resume/Cancel button while turning your printer on, keep it pressed for about a minute until you do not observe any activity with the lights for about 15 secs. Then proceed with the usual setup.
Hope that helps.
