The printer connects to the network via WiFi with DHCP. The DHCP server has a lease for the printer, however, the printer never actually gets an IP address. The WiFi config screen says "IP Address: Updating...". I can print via AirPrint (or whatever Apple calls it). I ran the repair tool or doctor, and it found some problems, "fixed" them, but no IP address.
The printer complains about not having an internet connection so it cannot update Instant Ink. I cannot scan from the printer because it doesn't have a network connection.
No other devices are having issues. I have rebooted the printer multiple times. I have rebooted the DHCP server.

Hi @Schlameel,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing connectivity issues with your HP Officejet Pro 9015e All-In-One Printer. If the printer is not receiving an IP address from your DHCP server, it can cause various network-related problems. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the issue.
-
Check the Network Configuration on the Printer:
- Access your printer's settings menu or web interface.
- Ensure that the printer is set to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP).
- Verify that the Wi-Fi connection settings, such as SSID and password, are correct.
-
Factory Reset the Printer:
- As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on the printer to clear any potential configuration issues. This will revert the printer to its default settings, so be prepared to reconfigure it afterward.
-
Verify DHCP Server Settings:
- Double-check your DHCP server's configuration to ensure that it is running correctly and has available IP addresses to assign.
- Make sure that the printer's MAC address is not being blocked by the DHCP server.
-
Assign a Static IP Address:
- If the DHCP issue persists, you can consider setting a static IP address for your printer. This involves configuring a specific IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS settings on the printer itself.
-
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve known issues, including network problems.
-
Check for Network Interference:
- Ensure that there is no interference causing connectivity issues. Devices like microwave ovens and cordless phones can disrupt Wi-Fi signals. Try moving the printer closer to your Wi-Fi router.
-
Verify Network Security Settings:
- Ensure that there are no security settings on your router or network that might be blocking the printer's connection. For example, check for MAC address filtering.
-
Check for Router/Modem Issues:
- Sometimes, the problem might be with your router or modem. Reboot your router and ensure it's working correctly. You can also try connecting the printer to a different network to see if the issue persists.
-
Check for Network Range Extenders:
- If you are using network range extenders or additional access points, ensure that they are set up correctly and have a strong Wi-Fi signal in the printer's location.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
