This printer was connected to my old wifi perfectly well.   I got new internet service and new router. Now the printer will not connect to the wifi, it keeps saying "Password Invalid"  It is not invalid, I even changed the password so it did not have any special characters, it is a simple word with 2 digits and no spaces. What is the solution to this?

@HZZZ, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are not able to connect the printer to the new router.

  • Make sure the printer and the Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Either 2.4 or 5GHz network.
  • If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.
  • This printer supports WPA encryption, check if the router is on the same encryption method. If using WEP or WPA-PSK+FT change it to WPA-PSK

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Hello and Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have a  Dual-band router and the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID. I will contact my Internet provider to see if they can assign different names to each network.

@HZZZ

Sure, that would help. Also, check the encryption type on the router.

Let me know how it goes.
