Hi @VSmith6336
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
If you've forgotten the password for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw, here are some steps you can take to reset or recover it:
Factory Reset:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Setup > Service > Restore Defaults.
- Confirm the reset. This will erase all custom settings, including the password, and restore the printer to its factory settings.
NVRAM Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the down-right quadrant of the touchscreen while turning the printer back on.
- Keep holding until you see the message "Permanent Storage Init" on the screen. This will reset the printer's non-volatile memory, including the password.
Default Password:
- If you haven't set a custom password, try using the default password, which is often "12345678" or leave the password field blank.
HP Smart App:
- If your printer is connected to the HP Smart app, you might be able to manage or reset the password through the app.
