Very Very Very frustrated.... My printer is offline...AGAIN!!! I literally just printed 10 minutes ago and now it says it is offline. This is not a one time thing, it does it EVERY SINGLE FREAKING DAY!!!! I literally spent more time trying to figure out how to print one piece of paper than I took designing that one piece of paper. I had a Chromebook and had all kinds of problems trying to print so I bought a HP (11th Gen intel corei3-1115g4) with Windows 11 home and have had more trouble printing than I ever did with the Chromebook 😠 They are set up on the same wireless network and I have up to date drivers. I'm about ready to grab a sledgehammer 😠

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
Update - Correct the Driver link
OK -- if you have not done so, do try the suggested solutions.
Going forward...
If, after you go through the solutions and suggestions, you run into something you don't understand and need help, check later in this message in section References / Resources. Not there? Ask - there might be additional videos and resources available to help you understand.
Finally,
If you see a suggestion you dislike or refuse to do, ignore it.
We are not here to force you into doing anything you do not want to do.
Windows and MacOS - Start here – Solutions are presented in the order to be completed:
HP printer is offline or not responding
Don't skip:
Reset the printer
Restart everything, including the router that controls your network
Check the router and the router logs - the router might know something about the break in connection
For example, look for mis-matched Mac Address / IP address pairs or odd log entries
Make sure the router is not running on outdated firmware - a weak, outdated, old router can impact network service
Stabilize the printer's connection to the network
Change the Printer connection type to TCP/IP
Consider assigning a static / manual IP address to the printer
Correct / Reduce wireless signal obstacles - for example, walls / cabinets / furniture, too much distance (or too little)
Dual Band Network?
If yes,
If your router supports it,
Create a separate SSID named network for each frequency
Connect the printer to the frequency / band you want it to use.
What? The printer supports 5GHz or 2.4GHz but not at the same time.
Printers dislike hopping and might not stay connected if the frequency they are using suddenly shifts.
In general,
- 2.4GHz is less fussy about obstacles and supports a longer distance between router and device (printer)
- 5GHz is faster
Reminder
Connecting the printer to 2.4GHz, even if you have 5GHz, is not a "bad" thing.
Use what works.

What else?
Check that Windows Updates are current / installed - Restart the computer to complete any Pending updates
What else?
If you have not done so,
Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Printer - Full Feature Software - Install
If you have not done so, consider
- HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts. The full driver adds at least two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant and HP Scan. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.
If the full driver printer software is (already) installed but not working,
- Uninstall any printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
- Restart the computer and sign in.
Next,
- Check (for the Printer) in Devices and Printers > If found, Right-Click Printer and Remove -- If any changes are made, that is, you remove anything, Restart the computer and sign in.
Next,
- If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, disconnect the cable before installing the printer software.
- Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software

Installation
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to the folder in which you saved the installation file (likely Downloads)
- Right-Click on the installation package and “Run as Administrator”
- If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation).
- After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in
Next,
Supported on your printer - Optional - Install after the full driver printer software
- HP Universal Scan Software - Model Dependent >> HP Universal Scan Full Feature Software adds OCR libraries to installed HP Scan software. HPUS installs a new, full featured, (and separate) HP Scan software shortcut to the Desktop. Note: Where supported, HPUS can be installed as standalone or installed after the full feature printer software.
