HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Officejet Pro 8025e All-In-One.  The screen on the printer shows "Without an Internet connection you might lose the ability to print soon.  Reconnect your printer to the Internet with either a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection to continue printing."  User connects to the printer via USB and there are no Internet connections available at the location.  Why would a printer stop printing just because it can't get to the Internet?  What about all the possibilities where an Internet connection is not available?

Thanks for the info but the support responses are (mostly) lacking - such as if I don't want HP+ I can choose a "Standard" printer.  This is not a support answer because the customer already purchased this printer - hence there is a question.  Unless HP is claiming to accept return for all these HP+ printers and swap them out with "Standard" models this is a non-answer to a customer question.

The REAL answer for this issue is that the printer DOES NOT require an internet connection to print.  It only requires that connection if you are using the HP+ features that include Instant Ink.  It does, however, require a connection during the setup.  Complete the setup process of the printer WITH an internet connection, opt out of Instant Ink when completing the setup, then disconnect the printer from the Internet and the printer functions just fine without a connection to the Internet and no longer throws the error.

Would have  been better if HP did not set up their installation with this issue.  An error message that does not identify the error is not really useful, is it?  Then there is the driver issue - but that is for another day.

Hi,

This is an HP Plus printer which requires an internet connection to print, including its specifications below:

https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-officejet-pro-8025e-all-in-one-printer

You would need to setup the printer with a temporary internet connection and opt out the HP Plus option, from a mobile device or a computer, then skip the HP Plus benefits and free ink offer, please consult below support document:
