Hi @Sal6711,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your HP OfficeJet 8600 has stopped printing. Let’s go through a few steps to identify and fix the issue.
Check printer status
Make sure the printer is powered on and shows no error lights or messages on the display.
If there are any error codes, note them as they can help identify the issue.
Check ink levels and cartridges
Open the printer and confirm that cartridges are installed correctly.
Check that the cartridges are not empty and are compatible with your printer.
Clear print queue
On your computer, go to Devices and Printers, right-click the OfficeJet 8600, and select See what's printing.
Cancel any stuck jobs, then try printing a test page.
Restart printer and computer
Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
Restart your computer to refresh the connection.
Check connection type
If using USB, try a different port or cable.
If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Print a network configuration page from the printer to verify connection status.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)
Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose connection, driver, or spooler issues.
Update or reinstall printer driver
Go to HP Support > Software & Drivers, download the latest driver for OfficeJet 8600, and install it.
Remove any previous drivers before reinstalling if necessary.
Print a test page from the printer itself
This helps determine if the issue is hardware-related or computer/driver-related.
Check for firmware updates
From the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update.
Updating firmware can resolve certain printing failures.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
