Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I registered and installed the software for a new printer and connected it to my computer. My Wifi network finds it and it's reflected on the system, and the print window pops up with the setup, but when I send a print command, the printer doesn't respond. There's no error message. When I instead connect it via a USB cord, the printer suddenly shows the tasks and THEN it prints. What's going on.

Hi @andrewk11,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with your HP ENVY 6055 not printing over Wi-Fi. It’s frustrating when everything seems set up, but the printer just won’t cooperate. Let’s figure this out together.

  • Is your printer connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device, or could it be on a guest network?
  • Have you recently changed your Wi-Fi password or router settings that might require reconfiguring the printer?
  • Are you seeing any error messages on the printer or in the HP Smart app?

Verify Printer's Wi-Fi Connection:

  • Press the Wi-Fi button on the printer to print a Network Configuration Page.
  • Check the network details to confirm the printer is connected to your primary Wi-Fi network.

Reboot Devices:

  • Restart your router, printer, and the device you are printing from.
  • After restarting, try printing again.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Open the HP Smart App on your computer or smartphone.
  • Use the app to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network by selecting Set up a new printer or Wi-Fi Setup.

Check Firewall or Antivirus Settings:

  • Disable your firewall or antivirus temporarily to see if it’s blocking the connection.
  • If printing works, add the printer or HP Smart to your firewall’s exception list.

Assign a Static IP Address to the Printer:

  • Access your router’s settings and assign a static IP address to your printer.
  • Enter the printer’s IP address into a browser to open its Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Ensure Wi-Fi Direct or Web Services are enabled in the settings.

Or follow the steps below.

1. Print a Network configuration page from the printer's control panel.

2. Look for IP address from the Network configuration page.

3. Open web browser - Chrome or IE or any other browser that you are using.

4. Type the IP address mentioned on Network configuration page into the browser's address bar or URL bar and press enter button.

5. Go to the Network tab.

6. Click on Networking from the left pane.

7. Then click on Network Address (IP).

8. Click on Manual IP Address and go to suggest a Manual IP.

9. Scroll down the screen and select Manual DNS server.

10. Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server from the Network Configuration page into the Manual Preferred DNS server field.

11. Click on Apply.
