Hi @Tracey19691972,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand your printer has stopped working and is showing an orange attention light. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.
Check the paper tray and paper alignment
Make sure the tray has paper, the guides are snug (not too tight), and the paper is not curled.
Remove the stack, fan it once, and reload it.
Check the ink cartridges
Open the ink access door and remove each cartridge.
Reinstall them firmly until they click.
If any cartridge light or icon blinks, that’s the faulty one.
Look for any small paper pieces inside
Open the rear access (if available) and the front area.
Even tiny paper scraps can trigger that orange indicator.
Restart the printer
Turn the printer off, unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and power it up.
Wait to see if the orange light clears.
Check the Wi-Fi light
Your Wi-Fi icon is showing but that does not block printing —
the orange light always indicates paper/ink/door issue, not a network issue.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
