Hi @estbecks,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, you can print from a computer connected via WiFi to the same network if you connect the HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP to the modem via an Ethernet cable. Here’s how it works.
Connect the Printer: Plug an Ethernet cable into the printer’s Ethernet port and connect the other end to your modem or router.
Network Configuration: Ensure that the printer is properly configured to obtain an IP address from the network. This is usually done automatically via DHCP. You can check the printer’s IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel.
Connect the Computer: Make sure your computer is connected to the same network (WiFi) as the printer.
Install Printer Drivers: Install the printer drivers on your computer if they are not already installed. You can usually download these from HP’s official website or use the installation CD that came with the printer.
Add the Printer:
- Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer. Choose Add a network, wireless, or Bluetooth printer and select your printer from the list of available printers. If it’s not listed, you might need to enter the printer’s IP address manually.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the + button to add a printer, and select your printer from the list. If it’s not listed, you can add it manually by entering the printer’s IP address.
Once set up, your computer should be able to print to the HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP over the network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
