When I try to print a document the job appears for a short moment in the printer queue, first it says "connecting", then switches to "connected", then "waiting for finishing the job" and then it disappears ... nothing is printed.
The printer appears as online. Problem appears as well when I try printing from MacOS 15.3.2 as well as via Air Print from e.g. iPhone or iPad (even with different iOS versions).
I updated the firmware, I replaced the cartridge (because it reported "Toner low". I now can see the that there is no issue with low toner any longer. So connection between MacBook and Printer works fine.
It is still possible to print e.g. the reports from the printer directly, so also printing in principle works.
Any idea?
PS: Why is MacOS 12.0 the latest in the list of Operating Systems??? It's quite old ....

@mk9a, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in.
- Turn on the printer.
Next, let's clear the print queue
- On your Mac, open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Open Print Queue.
- Cancel any pending jobs in the queue and restart the print process.
If the above doesn't work, try resetting the printing system on your Mac:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) on the list of printers and select Reset Printing System.
- Re-add your printer by clicking the + sign after the reset.
You mentioned trying AirPrint and printing from macOS, but also consider trying to connect your printer via USB temporarily to see if the issue is with wireless communication.
I hope these steps help resolve the issue

I tried all this without success. Even printing of documents from USB stick does not work while printing of diagnosis reports works fine. The issue occurred after the latest firmware update so I assume that it is related to the firmware. It is not related to network issues because the job occurs in the queue for a very short moment (see description above).

Hey @mk9a,
Thank you for your response
Let's try these steps:
Check Print Job Logs for Errors
On Mac, open Console.app (Applications > Utilities) and look for errors when sending a print job.
In the EWS, check if the printer logs any job failures.
Factory Reset the Printer
Reset the printer to factory defaults:
Access Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults (or similar).
Reconfigure network settings and try printing again.
Refer to this guide: Restore factory defaults on your HP printer | HP® Support
Take care and have a good day.
