Hi @Mozart661,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Deskjet 3700 series printer is having trouble connecting to the internet via WiFi, it can be due to several factors. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer and Network Settings
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together for 3 seconds. The wireless light will blink, indicating that the network settings have been reset.
Reconnect to WiFi:
- Press and hold the Wireless button on the printer until the wireless light starts blinking.
- On your WiFi router, press the WPS button. The printer should connect to the network within a couple of minutes. The wireless light will stop blinking and remain solid when connected.
2. Use HP Smart App for Setup
Download and Install HP Smart App:
- Ensure your iPhone is connected to the WiFi network you want the printer to connect to.
- Download the HP Smart app from the App Store.
Set Up Printer Using HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app.
- Tap on the Plus sign to add a new printer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your printer and connect it to your WiFi network.
3. Check WiFi Network
Verify WiFi Network:
- Ensure your WiFi network is working correctly and other devices can connect to it.
Ensure Proper Frequency:
- Ensure your WiFi router is broadcasting on a 2.4 GHz frequency, as many printers do not support the 5 GHz band.
4. Printer and Router Placement
- Place Printer Close to Router:
- Place the printer within range of the WiFi router to ensure a strong signal.
- Avoid placing the printer near devices that could cause interference (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
5. Update Firmware and Drivers
- Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.
6. Re-establish Connection
- Manual IP Address Setup:
- If automatic connection fails, try setting a static IP address for your printer.
- Access your printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) by entering the printer's IP address in a web browser.
- Navigate to the Network settings and manually configure the IP address.
7. Check Subscription Status
- Ensure Subscription is Active:
- Verify that your printer subscription has been successfully renewed and is active.
8. Factory Reset (if necessary)
- Factory Reset Printer:
- If all else fails, perform a factory reset on the printer.
- Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on performing a factory reset
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
