Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP Pavilion Plus 14 inch Laptop PC 14-ew0000 (7X843AV)

Unable to send docs to the printer - rebooted printer, computer, router - no change.  My husband can print wirelessly to the printer from his computer.  Using one diagnostic I was able to successfully print a test page.

Since your husband can print wirelessly from his computer and you were able to print a test page using diagnostics, the issue seems isolated to your HP Pavilion Plus laptop's communication with the printer. Here are some steps to troubleshoot further:

1. Check Printer Status on Your Laptop

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Manage.
  • Make sure it’s set as default and not showing as offline or paused.

2. Remove and Re-add the Printer

  • In the same Printers & scanners menu, remove the printer.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and let Windows detect it again.
  • If it doesn’t show up, click “The printer that I want isn’t listed” and try adding it via IP address.

3. Check Windows Print Spooler

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart.
  • If it’s not running, start it.

4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

5. Firewall or Antivirus Blocking

  • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or firewall software and try printing again.
  • If it works, you may need to whitelist the printer or related services.

6. Driver Update

  • Go to HP support page and enter your laptop and printer model.
  • Make sure your printer drivers and laptop’s Wi-Fi drivers are up to date.

I have the same problem. Tried to fix it following instructions provided by the HP and Scan Doctor app, but problem was not resolved!
