Hi @Caaarl,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're encountering a message stating that the HP printer is associated with another account and won't connect to WiFi, it's possible that the printer is still registered or linked to your friend's HP account. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps.
Factory Reset the Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the settings or setup menu.
- Look for an option like "Restore Defaults," "Reset," or "Factory Reset."
- Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a factory reset.
Remove Printer from HP Smart Account:
- Your friend should log in to their HP Smart account (online).
- Find the printer in the account settings.
- Remove or de-link the printer from the account.
Reconfigure WiFi Settings:
- After the factory reset, set up the printer again, connecting it to your WiFi network.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on the printer's control panel or use the HP Smart app if available.
Install HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your mobile device or computer.
- Use the app to set up the printer, following the prompts to connect it to your WiFi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
