My printer has suddenly stopped connecting to the Wifi network. The blue Wifi light keeps blinking. It was working fine for the past couple of years and I don't see what suddenly caused it to stop.
I tried the following and they have not helped:
1. Turning off the router and printer for 20 seconds and restarted. Nothing happened.
2. Network setup > Restore defaults. Then tried the WPS method on printer and router. Nothing happened.
3. Connecting to laptop with USB and using latest HP Utility on my laptop> Wireless setup. It tried to connect ("Configuring device") and after a while gives up and says "The assistant was not able to configure your device using a USB connection"
4. Using HP Smart on my iphone: before I restored defaults on the printer, it worked, but only if I changed my phone WiFi to the printer each time (which shows "no internet connection" in my settings), and only allowed me to print from my phone. But now it is no longer connecting to the printer and does not accept my router password when trying to connect printer to WiFi
I need a printer that connects wirelessly to my kids' laptops. I'm very close to throwing this machine in the garbage and buying a non-HP printer that works. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I had the same issues and tried the same things you did. I have Verizon FIOS, so what worked for me was I went into the myfios app and reset the router back to factory default. Once I went through the wireless setup on my printer it connected to WiFi. Maybe this will work for you. It's worth a try. Good luck.

I am having the same problem, which also started out of the blue today. The report I am able to print is showing a FAIL for "no filtering". Additionally the report shows Hardware Address (MAC) in bold. I am trying to call my internet provider atm. Good luck! I'll follow up

I had the same issue and spent hours uninstalling/reinstalling the printer trying to connect to the network. Wish I had thought about resetting the router because unplugging did nothing. I called Verzon FiOS and as soon as I uttered the words HP printer, she said this was pervasive issue all week. She thinks HP may have had a SW update, but I don't know. At least my Officejet Pro 8600 printer connects to the network again - very patient and competent tech rep!

Well, this is not accurate at least, since a recent update by Verizon, many HP printers are not able to connect upon enabling SON for the router, once disabling the feature the printer can connect again:
The issue started about two weeks ago after a recent router update with MANY different HP printers which were able to connect with SON enabled till this timeframe, for the 8600 printer as an example, the latest update was released more than 2 years ago in August 2018.
Anyway, disabling the SON feature should resolve the problem, no need to completely reset the router.
