@Djoj, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It sounds like the printer is having issues maintaining a stable connection with your iPhone, even though it’s set up to use Wi-Fi Direct. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:
Check Wi-Fi Direct on the Printer:
Make sure Wi-Fi Direct is turned on and check if the password is correct.
Connect iPhone to Printer’s Wi-Fi:
Go to Settings > Wi-Fi on your iPhone and connect to the printer's Wi-Fi Direct network.
Update Software:
Make sure both your iPhone and the HP printer have the latest updates.
Turn Off Personal Hotspot:
Go to Settings > Cellular and make sure Personal Hotspot is off.
Print a Network Test Page:
Print a network configuration page from the printer’s settings to check its status.
Reset Printer Network Settings:
On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup and select Restore Network Defaults. Then set up Wi-Fi Direct again.
Re-add Printer on iPhone:
Remove the printer from the HP Smart app or print menu, then add it back.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
