I just switched internet providers my printer was working just fine the only thing was get a new router & provider and now my printer won’t connect to the Wi-Fi. Every other device in our house has connected to the wifi except my printer😕 I need help as I use this printer for a small business. I’ve tried factory resetting it.  Where the router is located it’s way too far from where my printer is so I can’t use the ethernet cord. Hi @Jaerodz378,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a connectivity issue with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 E-All-In-One Printer Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist you better:

  • How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
  • Do you have a dual-band router?
  • If you have a dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both networks.

While you respond to that, Let's Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on the printer

  • Prepare a printer for a Wi-Fi connection by restoring the Wi-Fi setup mode.
  • When the settings are restored, the printer enters Wi-Fi setup mode for about two hours, making it discoverable during the HP software installation.
  • Most printers with a touchscreen: From the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings.
  • Once you restore the network to defaults, then please follow the instructions on this link to connect the printer back to your PC.

You may also refer to this document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change.

Additionally, refer to the document Connect to a Wireless HP Printer for help.

If the issue still persists then please try to connect the printer via Wi-Direct and then connect to regular Wifi.

Use a direct wireless connection to your printer to access the printer homepage on your computer or mobile device.

  • Place the printer close to your computer or mobile device.
  • Turn on the printer, and then make sure ink cartridges are installed and paper is loaded in the tray.
  • Get the Wi-Fi Direct printer name (Example: DIRECT-72-HP Officejet Pro 8610) and password.
  • Printers with a control panel menu: Touch the Wi-Fi Direct icon to open the Wi-Fi Direct settings menu to get the name and password..
  • On your computer or mobile device, open the Wi-Fi or wireless settings to view the list of available wireless networks.
  • Select your Wi-Fi Direct printer name from the list of networks, and then enter the password to connect to the printer.
  • In a web browser, type 192.168.223.1 into the address bar, and then press Enter.
  • Typing the IP address in the internet browser address bar
  • If a login or certificate window displays, complete the information to finish opening the EWS.
  • If a website security certificate displays, click Continue to open the printer homepage.
  • Now, let us run the wireless setup wizard from here-
  • Go to Network Tab > Select Wireless
  • Click on Wireless Setup Wizard > Choose the network you'd want to connect to and enter the password.
  • Once connected, the printer will have solid light near the wireless symbol.
  • You can now configure the printer with other devices to print/scan.

NOTE: Disconnect the WiFi-Direct connection and switch the computer/phone to your regular network.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
