Have a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. when I touch the wireless button, it tells me the built-in capabilities have been disabled. Get the same message when i go into setup and touch Network button. I do not get the restore network button. Have tried restarting router, laptop and printer by shutting them down and bringing them back up. How do I fix this so I can print wirelessly? Thank you for your help.

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus is having issues with its built-in network capabilities. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve this issue:
1. Check Printer Settings
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.
Access Network Settings:
- Tap the Wireless button on the control panel. If it still says the built-in capabilities are disabled, continue to the next steps.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the Printer from the power outlet.
- Remove the Ink Cartridges (this is optional but can help in some cases).
- Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Reinsert the ink cartridges if you removed them.
3. Reset Network Settings
If you can access the menu:
- Go to Setup:
- Tap on Setup (the gear icon).
- Navigate to Network or Network Setup.
- Look for an option to Restore Network Defaults. If this option is available, select it to reset the network settings.
4. Update or Reinstall Firmware
- If you're able to connect your printer to a computer via USB, you can check for firmware updates on the HP Support website for your model. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve network issues.
5. Factory Reset
If the network capabilities are still disabled:
- Perform a factory reset:
- Go to Setup > Tools > Restore Factory Defaults (if available). This will reset all settings, including network settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi. I've tried everything again in your reply to my problem with the built-in network. Short of throwing it out a window, so far nothing still hasn't restored it. I've never had any issues with my HP 8600 printer. I've owned it for years. Always done the updates. If you have anything else/idea please let me know. I really don't want to have to buy another printer to print wirelessly with, Thank you for your help.
