Laserjet MFP 2604sdw - repeated failures of printer to connect to the wifi network. All attempts to reinstall the printer have failed. HP troubleshooting software fails to install the printer either automatically or manually. Manually trying to reinstall the printer fails. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply but you missed my point. This is exactly the procedure that is not working to set up the printer wirelessly. It immediately installs as a wired connection. However, I still can't use it wirelessly and it doesn't offer to install as a wireless connection at this point.

Hi @Steve2225
Thank you for following the steps in the video and you answer 😇
1. Ok, so for knowing a little more about the issue, it could be helpful to print a Network Summary page.
- Note: I am checking information about this printer in

In response to your questions about Network Status the report shows the printer connected by wireless, not connected by wired connection. (I have tried to make this connection but apparently it failed using the method of pressing the WPS button on the router.)
TCP/IP (V4) - connected, TCP/IP (V6) - connected, WI-FI direct setup - Enabled, Bluetooth Low energy - ON
I hope this answers your questions. If not please let me know.

Hi @Steve2225
Thank you for providing answers. 😇
Ok, if you have a status TCPIP-V4 connected then that means the Wifi on printer is working.
1. Now try to setup printer first on your mobile phone, following steps in the next video:
2. Then you can try to connect printer to computer using steps in the next video:

Thanks for your response, I've been partially successful. I was able to print from my iPhone using the first video and the HP app on the phone, also using the Apple print prompt. As far as the second video, I was unable to get the printer to print wirelessly using this video. The document is sent to the printer but when checking the print queue the print job shows an error and does not print.

Hi @Steve2225
Thank you for following steps on video 😇
1. First step is to check if your computer is connecting to the same Wireless network of your printer.
- Note: in general HP printers are easy to connect when using a 2.4G network in your router.
2. Then you may need to restart Printer and also restart your Wireless internet provider.
3. Install again software for printer:

Well thank you, we're making progress. I can now print to the printer using a wired network connection. However, I still can not print via a wireless connection. The computer just seems to be unwilling to recognize the printers wireless connection.

This video is the typical how to add printer. In my case, I may be misunderstanding something. I already have the printer installed and available as a network printer. I was trying to make a separate "wireless" connection to the printer. Am I misunderstanding that a separate wireless connection is necessary to use the computer away from a wired connection?
