Envy Photo 6234
Microsoft Windows 11

Printer prints up to three lines of gibberish or lines of symbols non-stop unless I stop the printer. I have restarted printer and router as normal and I have accessed any driver update. This happens each time I try to print a document.

@jOOLEO, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP ENVY Photo 6234 is printing gibberish or random symbols continuously, which can be frustrating. Let's work through this together to resolve the issue.

Cancel All Print Jobs

  • On your PC, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel all pending print jobs.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check the Printer Driver

Sometimes, incorrect or corrupted drivers can cause this issue.

  • Go to the official HP driver page for your printer: Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers for Windows 11.
  • After installation, restart your computer.

Set the Correct Printer Port

  • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Ports tab.
  • Ensure the correct port is selected (e.g., USB001 for USB or WSD/Network port for wireless).
  • If unsure, try switching to a Standard TCP/IP Port:
    • Click Add Port > Standard TCP/IP Port, and follow the wizard using your printer’s IP address.

Reset the Printing System (Optional)

If the issue persists:

  • Uninstall the printer from Devices and Printers.
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, and uninstall any HP software.
  • Reboot your PC.
  • Reinstall the printer using the full driver package from the HP link above.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
