Hi, I am in exactly the same position as the previous messages, I also have an MFP M281fdw which was working perfectly until it did an update yesterday - I was sitting next to the printer at the time - It then popped up the message: "Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip.
I also have cartridge protection turned off so there is no reason why this should have happened.
I notice that we all have the same printer so this suggests that there was a glitch in the firmware update, is there a way to get HP to review and fix this?

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue
- The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
- I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Hi
I got an email like this one I am replying to saying to look for a private message, it seems I don't have access to these as that option is not available to me. Is there some setting that needs changing to allow access?
Thanks
